Hyundai Santa Cruz: Tail Gate / Tail Gate Latch
1 . Tailgate latch assembly
• When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover, wrap protective tape around the tools to prevent damage to components.
• Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.
1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2.Remove the tailgate bed trim assembly.(Refer to Tailgate - "Tailgate Trim")
3.Disconnect the tailgate latch connector (A).
4.Open the lock pin, separate the tailgate latch rod (A).
5.Loosen the mounting bolts, remove the tailgate latch assembly (A).
Tightening torque :6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb-ft)
6.To install, reverse removal procedure.
• Make sure the tailgate locks / unlocks and opens / closes properly.
• Make sure the connectors are connected in properly.
