Hyundai Santa Cruz: Tail Gate / Tail Gate Assembly

1 . Tailgate assembly

• Wear gloves to protect hands from injury.

• Be careful not to damage the tailgate and body.

• When removing and installing the tailgate, an assistant is needed.

1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

2.Remove the tailgate bed trim.(Refer to Tailgate - "Tailgate Trim")

3.Disconnect the connectors (A).

4.Disconnect the tailgate stay cable (A) as shown.

5.Slide the tailgate the the right disconnecting the left hand side hinge (A), while sliding the tailgate to the right be mindful to avoid potential contact with the rear bumper.

6.Remove the tailgate assembly (A) by tilting it to the 45 degrees.

7.To install, reverse removal procedure.

• Make sure the tailgate locks / unlocks and opens / closes properly.

• Make sure the connectors are connected in properly.
