Hyundai Santa Cruz: Engine Control System / Boost Pressure Sensor (BPS)

- Description Boost pressure sensor (BPS) is installed on top of intercooler output pipe to measure the absolute intake manifold pressure.

- Inspection

1. Connect the diagnostic tool on the Data Link Connector (DLC).

2. Measure the output voltage of the BPS during idle with IG ON.

- Removal

1.Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) cable.

2.Lift the vehicle.

3.Remove the engine room under cover.(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")

4.Disconnect the boost pressure sensor connector (A).

5.Remove the mounting bolts (B), and then remove the boost pressure sensor.

- Installation

   

• Install the component to the specified torques.

• If a part is dropped, replace it with a new one and discard the dropped part as invisible damage may be caused.

• Insert the sensor in the installation hole and be careful not to damage it.

1.Install in the reverse order of removal.
