Hyundai Santa Cruz: Drive Belt System / Drive Belt Tensioner

- Removal and Installation Drive Belt Tensioner

1.Remove the engine room under cover.(Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")

2.Remove the drive belt.(Refer to Drive Belt System - "Drive Belt")

3.Remove the drive belt tensioner (A).

Tightening torque :53.9 - 63.7 N.m (5.5 - 6.5 kgf.m, 39.7 - 47.0 lb-ft)

4.Install in the reverse order of removal.

Drive Belt Tensioner Bracket

1.Remove the drive belt tensioner.

2.Remove the alternator.(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Alternator")

3.Remove the A/C compressor.(Refer to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning - "Compressor")

4.Remove the drive belt tensioner bracket (A).

Tightening torque :39.2 - 44.1 N.m (4.0 - 4.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 32.5 Ib.ft)

5.Install in the reverse order of removal.

- Inspection

1.Check the belt tensioner for excessive dust, crack, and damage. Replace if necessary.

2.Check for vibration during rotation, foreign matter adhered to v-groove on pulley, eccentric contact of v-groove and replace parts if necessary.
