Hyundai Santa Cruz: Lubrication System / Oil Filter & Oil Cooler

- Removal and Installation

1.Drain the engine coolant. (Refer to the Cooling System - "Coolant")

2.Drain the engine oil.(Refer to the Lubrication System - "Engine Oil")

3.Disconnect the oil cooler hoses (A).

   

• Do not apply excessive force when disconnecting and reconnecting the oil cooler coolant hose. Otherwise, coolant may leak due to the deformation of cooler nipple.

4.Remove the oil fillter & oil cooler (A).

Tightening torque :19.6 - 23.5 N.m (2.0 - 2.4 kgf.m, 14.5 - 17.4 lb-ft)

   

• When removing the oil filter & oil cooler, loosen the bolts shown in the below.

5.Remove the oil fillter & oil cooler O-rings (A).

   

• When installing, be sure to check the existence of 2 O-rings on the seating surface of oil filter & oil cooler.

6.Install in the reverse order of removal.

7.Fill the engine oil.(Refer to the Lubrication System - "Engine Oil")

8.Fill the engine coolant.(Refer to the Cooling System - "Coolant")

   

• The coolant must be injected according to the integrated thermal management module (ITM) coolant filling method.
